There Are So Many Ways to Give

 

Did you know that we need to raise more than $225,000 a year just to keep our doors open?

  • A gift of $15 will help us care for a dog for a week.

  • A gift of $30 will help us care for a cat for a month.

  • A gift of $50 will help us spay or neuter an animal to prevent overpopulation.

SO MANY WAYS TO GIVE

Food, medical attention, day-to-day care, utilities… These basics are not free. 

 

Many people believe that they are supporting their local animal shelter when they donate to the ASPCA. Sadly, that is not the case. While the ASPCA does tremendous work in raising awareness about animals in need, none of the $185,000,000 it raised last year was redistributed to local shelters for day-to-day operations. And only a small portion of those funds were set aside for grants to help shelters who need aid for special projects. 

 

So how do we do it? How does the Hudson Valley SPCA raise the money needed just to stay open year in and year out? 

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

We do not receive money from the ASPCA or any federal, state or local government entities. Our survival depends completely on the generosity of our supporters. From veterinary care to heating oil, every cent of your donation helps the animals who come through our doors.

 

SUPPLIES 

Many of our supporters help us with donations of day-to-day supplies, such as food, cleaners and old blankets. Please visit our Wish List page to see the supplies that we need. These are products we use every single day help keep our shelter running!

VOLUNTEER

Would you like to share your administrative expertise? Are you handy with power tools? Do you love to work in the garden? We can always use your help. MEMORIAL DONATION

Honor a special person or pet by making a memorial donation to the HVSPCA in their name. Send us your donation with a note indicating your name, the name of the deceased or honoree and the name and address of the person you'd like us to contact regarding your donation. Please mail your donation and notes to: Hudson Valley SPCA, PO Box 356, Vails Gate, NY 12584. We will send the person you've noted a personal note on your behalf thanking them for their gift to our animals.

You can donate gently used items and consign furniture at Bloomingdeals! Resale Shops. HOLD FUNDRAISING EVENTS

We like to remind our community that the animals here are your animals. They don't belong to the Hudson Valley SPCA - we just care for them until they can go home again. To help us care for the animals and to keep their temporary home comfortable and safe, many wonderful individuals hold special fundraisers on their own to help the animals and to help us care for them. These creative individuals hold contests, sell cookies, hold wine tasting events, run for the cause and even put together art shows. If you want to hold a fundraiser, give us a call and we will do our best to help you make it a great success. The animals - YOUR animals - thank you. We all thank you.
